Tour attractions
  • Ganghwa Peace Observatory
Ganghwa Peace Observatory, a four-story building with one basement level, was built on forest land in the northern part of the Civilian Passage Restriction Line in Cheolsan-ri, Yangsa-myeon. Previously restricted to the public since 2006, it opened to visitors on September 5, 2008, offering a rare glimpse into North Korea’s cultural ecosystem.
  • Jeondeungsa Temple
This temple was built by Adohwasang priest in the 11th year of King Sosurim of Goguryeo dynasty. According to the factual historical records of the temple, auxiliary buildings were built by Kyuyeong-hwaju at the 6th year of King Cheoljong (1855). This temple is accommodated with three rooms in front and another three rooms aside, as constructed on the architectural concept of "Dapo" style that the pillars are erected on the foundation stone.
  • Lunch: Authentic Korean food
Sanchae-bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish made primarily with a variety of wild vegetables served over a bowl of rice. In addition, it is typically accompanied by a variety of side dishes.
  • Geumpung Makgeolli Brewery
Established in 1931 for brewing makgeolli (unrefined rice wine), Geumpung Brewery boasts a long tradition. The story of the makgeolli brewed by three generations of its owners is unique, but what will propel the brewery into the next century is its interactive programs, aligning with modern travel trends.
  • Onsuri Anglican Church
Onsuri Anglican Church, also known as St. Andrew's Church, was constructed in 1906 by Mark N. Trollope (1862-1930), a British missionary who later became the third Bishop in Korea in 1911. At the entrance of the church is a tall, bell tower in the style of a traditional Korean gate. The main building has a traditional Korean hip-and-gable roof topped with a stone cross, and its chapel follows the typical style of western European church architecture.
